Overview

ScreenTime is a Chrome extension that helps users track and limit time spent on websites. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.

Data We Collect

ScreenTime does not collect, transmit, or share personal data. The following information is generated and stored exclusively on your local device:

• Websites visited and time spent on each site
• Daily time limits you set for specific websites
• Your Pro license activation status

None of this data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.

Local Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device except in the two cases described below.

External Network Requests

ScreenTime makes two external network requests:

1. Google Favicon Service — When displaying your browsing history, ScreenTime fetches website icons from https://www.google.com/s2/favicons. Only the domain name of the website (e.g. reddit.com) is included in this request. No personal data is transmitted.
2. License Validation — When you enter a Pro license key, ScreenTime contacts Lemon Squeezy's API at https://api.lemonsqueezy.com to verify your purchase. Only your license key is sent. No browsing data, usage history, or personal information is included in this request.

Remote Code

ScreenTime does not use any remote code. All JavaScript is bundled locally within the extension and no code is fetched or executed from external sources at runtime.
